The team at Nortonthorpe Sports Club is made up of good, local people who are dedicated to helping our Communities. We also have a team of professional advisors ready to offer guidance and to act as our conscience. We are delighted to also have a small but powerful group of patrons who are committed to helping raise our profile, promote our vision and help fundraise.
NSC has undergone significant investment in its grounds over the last few years. Over the last few months NSC has been proactive in networking with other community groups and securing additional users of its facilities. It has established an Allotment group, agreed for Huddersfield FA schools to play games here and agreed for GWL United to base many of its activities here.
There are further plans being considered around the trail and woodland areas also. This is whilst also supporting the existing football club based here, Scissett FC, with improved pitches, goal nets and changing facilities. This is fantastic and is exactly the types of activities NSC wants to be offering to its local community.
However now its needs its local community to help. To ensure NSC can maintain its high standard of facilities NSC need additional volunteers to help with the below:
• Outfield maintenance
• Inside maintenance
• Helping with bar / kitchen at weekends
These are volunteers’ roles and can be as much or as little as people are comfortable.
