Would your Group be interested in planting flowers in this Garden plot?
The Nortonthorpe Sports Centre has a small garden plot which has been weeded and is now ready for a Summer Flower makeover.
The committee wondered whether this might be an appealing project for the local group.
The Garden Plot is immediately outside the entrance gates at Nortonthorpe Sports Club on Springfield Avenue in Scissett – which is home to Scissett FC.
Jane Dawson from Nortonthorpe Sports Club says “We would love to hear from any Groups who would be willing to plant ground cover plants or flowers and keep down the weeds.”
Up until recently this was an unsightly area, with stones and weeds, however a group who had been regularly visiting the grounds, have worked hard and created a new rockery. Unfortunately they are no longer able to continue their visits, and so the committee at the Nortonthope Sports Club wondered whether another group would enjoy taking care of a summer garden.
Alternatively and in addition to; if you have been growing or propagating bedding plants or flowers, or just happen to have some spares, that would be suitable for this area, they would greatly be appreciated.
If this might be of interest to your group, or you are otherwise able to help, the committee would love to hear from you.
