This new funding enables Parent Sanctuary to provide expert guidance, helping parents select the perfect carrier before making a purchase. This ensures a comfortable and safe choice, promoting better bonding and comfort for both parent and child”.

HD8 residents can arrange to hire slings and carriers by collection in Scissett or Skelmanthorpe. Parent Sanctuary , as well as supporting parents throughout the Kirklees area.

Learning to use a sling or carrier correctly leads to more comfortable and enjoyable babywearing experiences.

There are numerous benefits from attending Sling and Carrier classes, including the prevention of backache from incorrect carrier usage. Their trained instructors provide hands-on support, teaching proper techniques to distribute weight evenly and prevent discomfort.

In addition to their free classes, Parent Sanctuary offers home visits for parents with newborns.

The privately arranged home visits by Parents Sanctuary do come with a cost; however, in some circumstances, flexible funding and money raised from hiring slings and carriers can be reallocated to support families most in need.

Visits, lasting up to two hours, provide tailored support for those who may find it challenging to attend sessions in person. Whether you have twins or multiples, a premature infant, or a baby with medical conditions that make sling wearing more complex, their home visits ensure you receive the dedicated assistance needed to achieve a safe and supported fit.

For families with more complex needs, it may not be possible to provide full support in a drop-in setting. In such cases, the consultant may advise that a private appointment is more appropriate. Please get in touch with Parent Sanctuary if you need clarification or further information.
