Specialist recruitment agency, Stafflex, has recently joined the pack as a Snowdog sculpture sponsor. Over the coming months, Stafflex’s Snowdog will make its way to its trail location alongside 60 other sculptures, all of which have been uniquely and thoughtfully designed by regional and national artists, as well as local school children.
With a long-standing reputation for powering Yorkshire’s workforce, Stafflex has been working with individuals and companies across the community for over two decades. The decision to sponsor the trail with a large Snowdog is yet another way in which the company is striving to support the people of Kirklees.
While the rest of the designs are still under wraps to ensure maximum excitement on launch week, the Stafflex team are already able to champion their chosen design, as they have opted to sponsor the official trail figurehead, which features names of the many towns and villages that form Kirklees.
Nemi Alexis, Marketing Manager at Stafflex, comments: ‘We were keen to sponsor the sculpture which is being used to promote the trail as it perfectly encapsulates what Stafflex stands for. It showcases the many different places across Kirklees and our diverse community. As a recruitment agency we are at the forefront of helping people, businesses and organisations in order to bring the best out of our community.
‘We were also keen to get involved with the event for personal reasons. Sadly, two of our former employees have passed away due to cancer and, only recently, our Managing Director, Brian Stahelin, was diagnosed with cancer just as the first lockdown began. As his cancer was detected early on, he thankfully recovered, but we want to use this as an opportunity to really stress the importance of being aware of the signs and symptoms of ill health and how everyone should take advantage of the services offered by The Kirkwood.’
Inspired by the much-loved animated film, The Snowman™ and The Snowdog, the sequel to Raymond Briggs’ classic picture book and film The Snowman™, Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees will bring the magic of The Snowdog character to life through an extraordinary public art trail.
The trail will help raise awareness and essential funds for The Kirkwood as they continue their work to help and support those living with a life limiting illness in Kirklees, while encouraging visitors from far and wide to explore new parts of our region.
Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees will launch in September 2022.
