Huddersfield Giants & Partners are excited to announce our next Women in Business Lunch Event at the John Smith’s Stadium on Wednesday 6th July!
The Huddersfield Giants Women In Business Lunch Event is a perfect time to come together, make some meaningful connections with other professional women, entrepreneurs, and small business owners.
July’s event is based on a theme around “Education”. With speakers from the educational sector to speakers educating you on you, they will be focusing on their own accomplishments through life, discuss their business and educate you on how you can manage yourself along with some key take outs, whilst accompanied by MC/comedian Peter Emmett.
Our Guest Speakers;
Liz Towns-Andrews OBE from the University of Huddersfield:
Liz trained as a chemist, and received her BSc and PhD from Sheffield University. She has an MBA from the Open University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics. Liz has extensive experience of working at the academic-industry interface and worked in the Science and Technology Facilities Research Council (STFC) for 25 years. She was Director of Innovation for STFC before joining the University of Huddersfield and led the development of the national Science and Innovation campuses at Harwell in Oxfordshire and Daresbury in Cheshire. Liz is 3M Professor of Innovation and Director of External Engagement in the Huddersfield Business School and was, until December 2020, Director of Research & Enterprise at the University. She led the development of the University’s research and enterprise strategies, and established the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre. Liz received an OBE in the 2020 New Years Honours list for services to Business, to Enterprise and to Public and Private Sector Collaboration.
Dr Ella Russell the ‘Yorkshire Menopause Doctor’:
Dr Russell trained in Leeds becoming a partner in General practice in 2002. During this time she developed expertise in teaching and training developing as an experienced and recognised educationalist over 15 years. Dr Russell is well recognised throughout Yorkshire for providing the highest standard of clinical care to her patients. Dr Russell is used to supporting and empowering women, specialising in supporting women who are transitioning through the perimenopause and post menopause, providing evidence-based advice and treatment for the empowering women to get the advice, support and expertise they need when they are deciding upon their treatment options.
Diane Andrew of ‘Diane Andrew Life Coach’:
How many of us have felt our cheeks burning and hearts racing? Those all too debilitating feelings of low self-esteem, imposter syndrome, low-confidence, and self-sabotage. Diane Andrew did. For someone who has always been naturally confident, life has dealt Diane its fair share of knocks. Fast forward through IVF, a divorce, leading to the loss of her job, a cancer diagnosis, treatment that led to early menopause, not to mention two house moves – all while caring for 3 children who needed her more than ever – Diane has felt the challenges life has thrown at her. Its Diane’s passion to help empower other women through life She’s now a qualified NLP Empowerment Coach and holds the key to a bright, new future. Listen to her motivational speech and you will find an inner strength in every step of life.
We will also be joined by Tania Fares, a qualified teacher who has worked as an assessor in Engineering and is now, Science Apprenticeships Co-ordinator and Laboratory Technician Trainer/Assessor at Kirklees College.
